Top 10 Products when flying with young kids

  1. MiaMilly

Our favourite carry on, we can take the girls on top of the luggage throughout the airport. It even carries tired adults if needed. It is also roomier than most other carry ons we own so we are able to fit all the other bits for the airplane inside this carry on.

  2. Stokke JetKids

This luggage we used to use more pre Miamily as it carries smaller kids. Our 7 year old, for example, no longer enjoys using it. It is great however in the plane as you can create a leg rest for smaller kids. Unline the Miamily it doesn’t have loads of space inside as you need to carry the mattress inside and it takes most of the space, but it is sturdiers than the inflatable footrests for younger kids

  3. Amazon Fire Tablet for Kids

Completely understand the effects of screen time on kids but no matter what anybody tells you about trinkets and games, there’s nothing that buys you more peace and quiet than some zombie kids on tablets

  4. Inflatable Foot Rests

These are good to take with our Miamily as we can inflate them on site and they dont take up as much space as the mattress of the Stokke Jet Kids. You can also inflate as much as you want to adjust to taller and older kids. However, I don’t think they are allowed on all airlines, so make sure your airlines allow it before taking it on board. I would say down with the patriarchy and take them anyway but I have already fought that battle and lost

  5. L.O.L. Headphones

Great to use with the forbidden evil tablets. You can turn on bluetooth and pair them to their tablets so no need for wire. It does bring the wires as well in case you want to use it on flights

  6. Yeti water bottle

no need to be a Yeti but remember to take an empty bottle and refill before entering the plane. We did take a filled one and they made us throw it away once and it has traumatised the kids that the security people have the power to get rid of your things

  7. Sleep mask for kids

Helps overstimulated kids go to sleep. Also impossible to get on overstimulated kids so good luck

  8. Ear plugs for kids

Same as the mask. If you manage to get your kids to wear it, parenting win

  9. Steel tin box for snacks

My kids don’t eat anything in the plane so unless I bring my whole fridge in a box there is a lot of whining. These are great to keep things fresh. cheese, cucumber, cereals and yoghurt

  10. Portable charger

Always great for all of the devices you are bringing along. Especially the headphones, which we never charge. Nowadays every country has their own rules about portable chargers, so make sure to check before flying. We had to throw ours away in China because it wasn’t made in China so if China is your destination, try finding one that says it is specific for China use.
